Scottish Veterans' Residences

The 30 Days Of IPA project was, from inception, intended to raise some money for a worthy charity.  We're very proud to announce that our adopted cause for this year is Scottish Veterans' Residences.

SVR

Scottish Veterans' Residences is Scotland's oldest ex-Service charity, founded in 1910 by two Seaforth Highlanders, Charles Pelham Burn and Chilton Lind Addison Smith, having seen the squalor under which veterans of the day existed in Edinburgh.

SVR provides unique and unrivalled residential accommodation for our ex-service men and women of all ages. Each year they help some 300 ex-service men and women and their spouses.

Their two main residences are in the centre of Edinburgh and Broughty Ferry just outside Dundee.  They house around 150 residents, all of whom have access to 24 hour care if needed, a gym, gardens and bowling green.

30 Days of IPA will be collecting money via the participating pubs and brewers and from ticket sales for some of the events including our charity gala on the 28th of April.
